VITH YOU
as a Michigan man
tion? Or are you a

becauthe eem inadequate for appreciation. Per-
haps they, too, are acting a part; perhaps they have
ability to compete with you in those "better" things.
Doubtless you will .find 'yourself more popular
-among the weeds than perched frowningly near a
wall. So, the eternal recompense will revert to your-
self, and you will get something as good as you give.
Don't be a wall flower.' It is selfishness.
Sir G. H. Barclay, the British diplomat, was re-
cently divorced. If these. trained diplomats can't
placate their.wives ,vhat hope is there for the rest
'of us common mortals?
There should be no difficulty in enrolling the
needed number for the R. O. T. C. now that the
organization is open to practically the entire student
body.
.If military discipline has taught us anything, at
all, we should realize the obligation to fill out those
military service blanks and return them at once.
Audiences in Chinese "movies" do not pay ad-
mission until they see the beginning of the film.
Serials' ought to be popular over there.
Our idea of speaking in generalities is an article
trying to: explain how the football catastrophe
happened.

(Local color.) With a sweep of his hand he or-
dered' the gondola parked in front of Shylock's
royal palace. Broke again.
Shylock was in his office ragging the scale with a
voice of high interest. (Awful.) Three thousand
ducats swam in the canal below.
"You called me fish on Friday last, you-" Shy-
lock stopped. Who wouldn't.
"Shylock, I am here' for a small loan. Just $25.
You see I have to take 'a guest out to dinner this
evening," the noble Venetian purled.
"Chorus lady ?" asked the Merchant of Venice.
"Sir, you forget that I was married. Didn't you
read the last act? Portia, my wife, is to be my'
guest."
Shylock yawned. "It's simple, just your wife.
Here's 40 cents. Take her over to Tuttle's."

PRESIDENT HUTCHINS FAVORS
TRANSPORTATWON PLAN
President Harry B. Hutchins an-
nounces that he heartily endorses the
plan contained in the following let-
ter which he received yesterday:
At the close of school for Holiday
-Vacation te filities at the Michi-
gan Central Ticket OefiYce and baggage
room will be taxed to the limit, ow-
ing to the fact that the majority of
students wait until they are ready to
leave for home before purchasing
railroad, sleeping and parlor car tick-
ets and also to check their baggae.
To relieve the situation and to
make it was pleasant as possible for
the students the Michigan Central has
arranged to sell tickets and check bag-
gage In advance of the date of depart-
ure. Students can purchase tickets,
arrange for sleeping car berths and
check their baggage at their conven-
fence.. Baggage will then be, at des-
tination when passenger reaches
home. Tickets will be dated for the
day that students intend to leave and
it will not be necessary to stand in
line at Ticket Office or baggage room
when they are ready 'to take :train.
Yours truly,
J. W. SWITZER.
