FRED S. GREEN, 91, of New Port Richey
Fla., formerly of Oak Park, died Oct. 13, 2009.
A veteran of World War II, he became
a staff sergeant and an intelligence radar
specialist stationed in the Phillipines.
At home, he became a technician for
Michigan Bell PBX. An international ham
operator, he was an avid baseball player
and a huge fan of the Tigers.
Mr. Green is survived by sons and
daughters-in-law, Richard and Sheree
Green of Orlando, Fla., and David and
Debbie Green of Tarpon Springs; grand-
children, Michael Green, Lindsay Green,
Austin Green and Brandon Green.
He was the beloved husband of the late
Lynda Green.
Interment at Clover Hill Park Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to a char-
ity of one's choice. Arrangements by Ira
Kaufman Chapel.

Birmingham Temple in Farmington Hills.
She graduated from Oakland University
in 1971, and she taught English and
humanities at Harrison High School in
Farmington Hills for 23 years.
Joyce Lerner Kaplan is survived by her
children, James Kaplan, Michael Kaplan
and Elizabeth Kaplan; grandchildren,
Rebecca Kaplan, Amy Kaplan, Caroline
Kravitz, Benjamin Kravitz, Noah Kravitz.
She was predeceased by her husband,
Theodore Kaplan, and her son, Jonathan
Kaplan.
A memorial service will be held at 2
p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, at the Birmingham
Temple, 28611 W. 12 Mile Road,
Farmington Hills, Michigan. In lieu of
flowers, donations may be made to a char-
ity of one's choice.

JOYCE LERNER KAPLAN, 82, died Oct.
10, 2009.
Joyce was a resident of Metro Detroit
for 60 years and was an active participant
in community organizations, including
the Michigan Democratic Party Women's

Shkolnick; nieces, Inna and Nelli.
Mrs. Rudashevskaya was the beloved
wife of the late Leonid Rudashevskiy; the
loving grandmother of the late Eugene
Kishelov; the dear sister of the late
Alexander Shkolnick.
