LEON SIMON, 81, of
West Bloomfield, died
Oct. 13, 2009.
He was a pharmacist
for nearly 55 years. He
was an active member
of Alpha Zeta Omega
Pharmacy
Fraternity for
Simon
60 years. Mr. Simon was
also a past president of the fraternity as
well as a past member of B'nai B'rith.
Mr. Simon was born in Chicago. After
his father passed away when Leon was
just an infant, his mother and he moved
to Toledo, Ohio, his mother's hometown.
Mr. Simon graduated from high school
in Toledo and enlisted in the Army. After
being discharged from the Army, he
moved to Detroit to live, where his mother
had remarried. He attended Highland
Park Junior College and Detroit Institute
of Technology, where he graduated with a
degree in pharmacy. Throughout his life,
he owned two drug stores and two phar-
macies.
Mr. Simon was the beloved husband
of Harriet for 57 years; loving father of
Andrea Mendelson of Henderson, Nev.,

and Shari Simon of Walled Lake; dear-
est grandfather of Brandon Bohm and
Courtney Bohm; loving brother-in-law of
Bernice and Albert Yendick; dear cousin
of Stanford Rosenblatt; he is survived by
many loving nieces and nephews.
He was the son of the late Clarence and
the late Anna Simon; nephew of the late
Lilyan Rosenblatt.
Services were held at Hebrew Memorial
Chapel. Contributions may be made to the
Michael Yendick Foundation for Children,
17170 W. 12 Mile Road, Southfield, MI
48076; Jewish Hospice & Chaplaincy
Network, 6555 W. Maple Road, West
Bloomfield, MI 48322; or a charity of
one's choice. Arrangements by Hebrew
Memorial Chapel.

GERALD TUGMAN, 68, of Troy, died Oct.
17, 2009.
He is survived by his beloved wife,
Judith Tugman; many other loving family
members and friends.
Interment at Clover Hill Park Cemetery
in Birmingham. Contributions may
be made to a charity of one's choice.
Arrangements by Dorfman Chapel.

FLORENCE "RUTH"
WAIN, 83, of
Farmington Hills, died
Oct. 14, 2009.
She is survived by
her daughter, Libby B.
August of Farmington
Hills; grandchildren,
Wain
Stephanie August,
Jessica August; sister-in-law, Bebe
Josephson of California; many loving
nieces, nephews, other relatives and
friends. She will be missed by many.
Mrs. Wain was the beloved wife of the
late Marvin Wain; loving mother of the
late Steven Wain; dear sister of the late
Evelyn Ben.

YOUROFSKY, 67, of
Warren, died Oct. 15,
2009.
He is survived by his
son, Gary Yourofsky
of Cincinnati, Ohio;
daughter
and son-in-law,
Yourofsky
Gayle and Paul Byck of
Deerfield, Ill.; mother,
Jeanette Yourofsky of Farmington Hills;
brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Leonard
and Cathy Yourofsky of West Bloomfield;
grandchildren, Hannah, Jacob and Noah
Byck; many other loving family members
and friends.
Mr. Yourofsky was the dear son of the
late Jack Yourofsky.
Interment at the Hebrew Memorial Park
Cemetery in Mt. Clemens. Contributions
may be made to the American Diabetes
Association or to a charity of one's choice.
