DR. JACK G. MOROF, 80, of
West Bloomfield, died Oct. 25,
2005. He was a optometrist with
an office in Garden City. He was
also a World War II veteran, who
served in Germany and France.
Dr. Morof is survived by his
wife, Joyce Morof; daughters and
PHYLLIS PAYSON, 70, of West
Bloomfield, died Oct. 24, 2005.
She is survived by her hus-
band, Tony Payson; daughters
and son-in-law, Cathy and Andy
Scheman of Illinois, Judge

KEVIN JAY SPITZ
REMA LIFSHITS, 75, of Royal
Oak, died Oct. 27. 2005. A well
known watch repairman in
Russia, he taught others the art
of watch repair. He was a mem-
ber of the Jewish Community
Center.
Mr. Lifshits is survived by his
wife, Sofiya Brodstaya of Royal
Oak; daughter and son-in-law,
Yana and Greg Murtazin of West
Bloomfield; grandson, Eugene
Murtazin; brother and sister-in-
law, Michael and Inna Lifshitz of
Israel.
Interment at Beth Abraham

stelle Nelson, 91, of Novi,
died Oct. 26, 2005. She
was a graduate of the
University of Detroit Law School
and was admitted to the state bar
in 1936. She taught library sci-
ence studies at Wayne State
University and was a librarian at
the Oak Park Library and at
Temple Beth El.
Mrs. Nelson's community
involvement included being chair
of the Detroit Chapter of the
Women's American Jewish
Congress, creating dolls for
Children's Hospital through
E
Hadassah. She was also involved
with the Torah Study Class at
Temple Beth El and the Currents
Events Class at Temple Kol Ami.
Mrs. Nelson was a multi-media
artist who belonged to the
Palette and Brush Club, the
Scarab Club, the Birmingham
Bloomfield Art Association, the
Cranbrook Academy of Art and
the Michigan Surface Design
Association.
At her funeral, Rabbi Norman
Roman of Temple Kol Ami
reflected, "The artistry, the gifts,
the eloquent handwritten notes,
we appreciate you
