teve Roberts, political analyst, vet-
eran journalist and broadcaster, is
often recognized as the other half" of
the famous Cokie and Steve Roberts'
writing team for USA Today Magazine
and the New York Daily News.
But appearing locally here on Sept.

Women, Steve Roberts proved his
capability to captivate a crowd without
the presence of his

political observa-
tions with a NCJW
record-setting audience of 400 mem-
bers and guests. He also offered com-
mentary on what he believes are the
responsibilities of members of the
media.
Roberts quipped, "I think many

monologue examining such issues as
winning in politics and honesty in the
press.
"I'm asked all the time if the United
States is ready for a Jewish vice presi-
dent," he said. "My answer is an
absolute, definite, unequivocal 'Yes!'
