Congregation B'nai Moshe will host a
free, eight-week support group for adults
who have lost a spouse, family members
or friend. The group will meet 7:30-
8:45 p.m. starting Thursday, May 4.
The group will be facilitated by Elsa
Antebi.

Yad Ezra

Hosts Dinner

unteers and board members, Yad Ezra
will host a dinner on Wednesday, May
17, at Congregation B'nai Moshe.
Friends of Yad Ezra will underwrite the
event.
"Many of Yad Ezra's volunteers have
been with the organization since the
food pantry opened in 1990," said Lea
Luger, development director.
Yad Ezra distributes 42,000 pounds
of food to almost 1,000 families every
month. The Oak Park-based kosher
food pantry distributes 500,000 pounds
of food a year.

Shabbat Service
At Blue Nile

News — the perfect

Congregation T'chiyah will hold a
lunch-and-learn Shabbat morning ser-
vice at the Blue Nile restaurant, 508
Monroe in Detroit's Greektown, at 10
a.m. April 29.
The service will be led by Larry
Horwitz. Seifu Lessanework, owner of
the Blue Nile, will speak about the Jews
of Ethiopia, who have been present in
Ethiopia for 2,000 years. Lessanework
emigrated to Detroit from Ethiopia and
Israel.
A traditional Ethiopian vegetarian
lunch will follow services. Advance reser-
vations are required. The cost of the
lunch is $20 per person. Reservations
may be made by calling Ruthe Kaliff,
(313) 393-3709, by Tuesday, April 25.
After lunch, the group will tour the
Second Baptist Church, 441-446
Monroe. The church, founded before
the Civil War, was a station on the
Underground Railroad.
