Friends of Yad Ezra will underwrite the event. "Many of Yad Ezra's volunteers have been with the organization since the food pantry opened in 1990," said Lea Luger, development director. Yad Ezra distributes 42,000 pounds of food to almost 1,000 families every month. The Oak Park-based kosher food pantry distributes 500,000 pounds of food a year. The service will be led by Larry Horwitz. Seifu Lessanework, owner of the Blue Nile, will speak about the Jews of Ethiopia, who have been present in Ethiopia for 2,000 years. Lessanework emigrated to Detroit from Ethiopia and Israel. A traditional Ethiopian vegetarian lunch will follow services. Advance reser- vations are required. The cost of the lunch is $20 per person.
