nifer Jaffe of Traverse City, Richard and
Amy Jaffe of Nashville, Tenn., Lynne and
David Goldstein of Essexville, Ellen and
Mark Congiundi of Houston, Texas,
David Jaffe of Minneapolis; 16 great-
grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Diamond
of Bay City. She was the loving wife of
the late Morris Jaffe and the late Max
Jacoby; loving mother of the late Robert
Jaffe; loving sister of the late Harry, Jack,
Hyman and Max Diamond.
Interment at Bay City Jewish Com-
munity Cemetery Contributions may be
made to Temple Israel (Bay City), Bay
Medical Center Foundation or Hadas-

ELLA ICLARMAN, 92, of Southfield,

died Oct. 7. She was a member of Con-
gregation B'nai Moshe for over 60 years
and a past president of the B'nai Moshe
Sisterhood. In addition, she was a
secretery of the Jewish National Fund
and a founding member of For Women
Only at the Jewish Community Center.
She is survived by her son and daugh-
ter-in-law, Dr. Edward L. and Barbara
Klarman of Southfield; daughter and
son-in-law, Anne K. and Dr. Arnold Kelz
of Destin, Fla.; sister, Helen Sass of
Tuckerton, N.J.; grandchildren, Richard
Klarman, Emily Klarman. She was the
beloved wife of the late Morris Klarman.
Contributions may be made to Congre-
gation B'nai Moshe, 6800 Drake Road,
West Bloomfield, MI 48322 or Jewish
National Fund, 17100 West 10 Mile
Road, Southfield, MI 48075. Services
were held at Hebrew Memorial Chapel
with interment at Oakview Cemetery in
Royal Oak.

MAUREEN B. KLEIMAN, 62, of West
Bloomfield, died Oct. 5. Mrs. Kleiman
was a psychiatric social worker at
Kingswood Hospi-
tal. She received
her master's degree
in social work from
the University of
Wisconsin. She was
a member of Tem-
ple Kol Ami.
Mrs. Kleiman is
survived by her
husband, Martin
Kleiman; sons and daughter-in-law,
Robert Kleiman of West Bloomfield,
Stephen and Barbara Kleiman of Jack-
sonville, Fla.; brother and sister-in-law,
Sydney and Barbara Klinger of Canada;
brother-in-law, Morris Kimel; nieces and
nephews, Gilad Kimel, Judith Kimel, P'n-
ina Klinger and Jacobi Klinger. She was
the loving sister of the late Ruth Kimel.



Interment at Lethbridge Municipal
Cemetery in Alberta, Canada. Contribu-

ISADORE MILLER, 92, of Southfield,

died Oct. 9.
He is survived by his wife, Sara
Miller; daughters and son-in-law, Beth
and Robert Horowitz of Marietta, Ga.,
Elinor Miller of New York, N.Y.; grand-
child, Randy Horowitz. Contributions
may be made to the Kidney Foundation
of Michigan, 2350 S., Huron Parkway,
Ann Arbor, MI 48104. Services and
interment at Hebrew Memorial Park.

MORTON PEARL, 86, of Ann Arbor,

died Oct. 11. He and his wife lived in
Detroit until 1990 when they moved to
Ann Arbor; they were married for over
51 years. He had a lifelong interest in
politics and theater and he kept active by
participating in classes and discussion
groups. He said that he had the world's
most wonderful wife, and that his family,
s
friends, travels and experiences blessed
him with a wonderful life.
He is survived by his brother, Donald
of Farmington Hills; daughter, Gayle of
San Francisco; son, David of Ann Arbor;
nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the
beloved husband of the late Frances Mae
Jones.
According to his wishes, cremation
has taken place. A memorial service will s
take place 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, at
Courthouse Square Apartments, 100 S.
Fourth Ave at Huron, Ann Arbor. Con-
tributions may be made to Ann Arbor's
domestic violence shelter: Safehouse,
P.O. Box 7052, Ann Arbor, MI 48107.

MICHAEL PODLESNY, 100, formerly
of Southfield of Skokie, Ill., died Oct. 7.
He is survived by his daughter and
son-in-law, Olga (Klein) and Leo Gross-
man; grandchildren, Judith and Gary
Metzger, Kathrine and Bruce Rabin;
great-grandchildren, Lizabeth Metzger
and Carolyn Rabin. He was the beloved
late Elizabeth; father-in-
husband of
law of the late Louis Klein.
Contributions may be made to a
charity of one's choice. Graveside services
were held at Adat Shalom Cemetery in •
Livonia. Arrangements by Piser Chapel,
Skokie. For local information, call
Hebrew Memorial Chapel.

SYLVIA RAUTBORT REESE, 86,
former Detroiter of Sunrise, Fla., died
Oct. 1.
