Mrs. Richie was the beloved wife of the
late Sheldon Richie.

PEARL SCHARF, 93, of Bingham
Farms, died Oct. 11. Mrs. Scharf was a
professional singer and a renowned
soprano in New York. She had her own
radio show, "Judith Pearl Sings," and
introduced Tony Martin. Mrs. Scharf
was a past president of the National
Council of Jewish Women in New York,
was a membership chairman of the
Broward Symphony Orchestra and a
China Painting Guild member for which
she received numerous awards. She also
started the Knitting Committee at Trow-
bridge to knit scarves and hats for Good-
C fellows.
Mrs. Scharf is survived by her daugh-
ter and son-in-law, Roberta and Wil
Viviano of Bingham Farms; grandchil-
dren, Dr. Eric and Kathrine Scher, Adam
and Mary Scher, Mark and Carrie Scher,
Matthew and Kathy Scher, Jonathan and
Therese Scharf, Robert and Maria
Scharf; great-grandchildren, Sarah,
Michael, Dylan, Max and Zoe Scher,
Stephanie and Zachary Scharf and sister,
Mina Osur. She was the beloved wife of
the late Dr. Morris Scharf.
Interment at Beth El Memorial Park.
