STEIN, 96, of Oak Park, died
Jan. 15.
She is survived by her son
and daughter-in-law, Donald
and Sakiko of Japan; daughter
and son-in-law, Bobbie and Sol
Cohen of Oak Park; brother,
Jack Goldberg of Hollywood,
Fla.; grandchildren, Dale and
Warren Cohen. Mrs. Silver-
stein was the beloved wife of
the late Samuel Silverstein.
Contributions may be made

Michigan, 16250 Northland
Drive, Suite 212, Southfield,
MI 48075; B'nai Moshe Syna-
gogue, 6800 Drake Road, West

FRED SILVERSTEIN, 79, of
Southfield, died Jan. 16. Mr.
Silverstein graduated from
Northern High School. He
served in the army during
World War II. He was a mem-
ber of Perfection Mosaic Lodge.

He worked for United Insur-
ance Company and was in food
sales for the last 15 years.
He is survived by his wife,
Lillian; sons and daughters-in-
law, Ralph and Miriam of
Farmington Hills, Mark and
Edelene of Farmington Hills;
grandchildren, David and
Rhonda. Services were held at
Oakland Hills Chapel in Novi
followed by interment at B'nai
Israel Cemetery.
Contributions may be made
to the Karmanos Cancer Insti-
tute, 18831 W. 12 Mile, Lath-
nip Village, MI 48076; or to
the Wertz Cancer Center c/o
Harper Hospital. Arrange-

MILFORD TACHNA, 58, of
Livonia, died Jan. 16.
He is survived by his moth-
er, Pauline of Farmington
Hills; son Kris of Arm Arbor;
daughter, Nicole of Livonia;
sister, Helene of Farmington
Hills; one grandson.

JAY J. WERBER, 55, of East
Lansing, died Jan. 13. Mr.
Werber was active with the
National Kidney Foundation,
member and past officer of
Congregation Shaarey Zedek
in Lansing and the Lansing
B'nai B'rith. He was a senior
examiner of the Securities Bu-
reau, State of Michigan for 20
years.
He is survived by his wife,
Mimi; mother, Alice of Oak
Park; son, Matthew A. of Ann
Arbor; daughter, Jennifer and
fiance Gordon Goldbaum of
Oak Park, Ill.; brother and sis-
ter-in- law, David A. and Bar-
bara of Brooklyn, N.Y.; moth-
er-in-law and father-in-law,
Rose and Jack Diamond of
Southfield; sister-in-law and
brother-in-law, Marjie and
Steve Ziff.

LILLIAN WEXLER, 92, of

Windsor, died Jan. 18.
She is survived by her

Herlaine Bakerman of West
Bloomfield; grandchildren,

Caminker, Barbara and Nor-
man Kline, Judy and Tom
Bakerman, Cheryl and Steve
Schanes; seven great-grand-
children; brother and sister-in-
law, Donald and Reva
Meretsky; sister-in-law, Eileen
Meretsky. She was the wife of
the late Moe Wexler.
Graveside services were
held at the Shaar Hashomayin
Cemetery in Windsor. Contri-
