came to honor Don Fracassi
for his 20-year service to the
City of Southfield . . . five as
councilman and 15 as mayor,
a position he still holds.
Guests came into the
Southfield Pavilion to the
music of Billy Rose and his
strolling Gypsy group . . . and
ate at nine stations set up by
Southfield food emporiums .. .
Excalibur, Golden Mushroom,
Dimitri's, Larco's, Bernardi's
Ristorante di Modesta, Norm's
Oyster Bar, Southfield
Charley's, Bijou . . . Also
Vassel's Catering and Desserts
by Sylvia Lee.
Dancing was wonderful to
the excellent strains of Simone
Vitale (Sound Ideas Adv.) and
orchestra . . . while wife
Jeanne as usual her very fine
self with songs like "The
Nearness of You" which she
does so great . . . and duo'ing
with hubby Simone on "Just A
Gigolo" made famous by the
late Louie Prima and his ex-
wife Keely Smith . . . Natural-
ly, code enforcement gent Mort

them in folder frames . . .

RECENT PASSOVER
SEDER was huge success,

writes Rabbi Jeffrey Gale,
chaplain at Jackson State
Prison . . . who encloses copy
of letter sent to all that helped
. . . "I would like to take this
opportunity to thank you for
your generous contribution to
the Jewish Inmate Benefit
Fund. Your donation enabled
the Jewish inmates of Jackson
Prison to celebrate Passover in
magnificent style! In spite of
the recent difficulties at the
State Prison of Southern
Michigan, the Seder went very
smoothly. The Jewish
prisoners conducted
themselves under the highest
standards of responsibility.
The presence of several fami-
ly members greatly con-
tributed to the festive at-
mosphere. One inmate sat
down to dinner with his two
daughters for the first time in
18 years. Once again the
Michigan Jewish community
displayed great generosity and
understanding in supporting
such a worthy causer

is slated to be the biggest
Jewish Singles Party to ever
hit the Midwest . . . Newly
organized independent group
of Jewish Singles from St.
Louis are hosting other singles
`20s to '40s from 11 states for
the gala shindig non-stop par-
