The guest speaker will be
Nachman Shai, press secre-
tary of the Permanent Mis-
sion of Israel to the United
Nations, on loan for the Is-
rael Broadcasting
Authority. For five years,
he has been a miliIary
correspondent with Israel
Television and has earned a
reputation as a commen-
tator on the defense and
strategic situation in the
Middle East.
Shai has 13 years report-
ing experience with news-
papers, radio and television.
He has worked as a corre-
spondent during recent
wars in the Middle East and
has also covered the Cyprus
conflict.
He has been attached
to television news units in
five European countries.
Shai spent a year in the
United States with the
World Press Institute.
After returning to Israel,
he became a political
correspondent with Is-
rael Television and
covered the Knesset. In
May 1979, he assumed the
post of press- secretary of
the Israel Mission.
The public is invited.

Junior Division Election
June 10 at UHS Building

The 42nd annual meeting
of the Jewish Welfare Fed-
eration's Junior Division
will be held 7:30 p.m. June
10 in the LaMed Au-
ditorium of the main United
Hebrew Schools building.
Officers and board mem-
bers for the coming year will
be elected, and outgoing
president Kenneth J. Saf-
ran will give his annual re-
port. .
The report of the
nominating committee was
sent out with the invitation
to the meeting. Additional
nominations for directors
may be made by petitions
signed
by 10 division mem-
