For five years, he has been a miliIary correspondent with Israel Television and has earned a reputation as a commen- tator on the defense and strategic situation in the Middle East. Shai has 13 years report- ing experience with news- papers, radio and television. He has worked as a corre- spondent during recent wars in the Middle East and has also covered the Cyprus conflict. He has been attached to television news units in five European countries. Shai spent a year in the United States with the World Press Institute. After returning to Israel, he became a political correspondent with Is- rael Television and covered the Knesset. In May 1979, he assumed the post of press- secretary of the Israel Mission.
