(Continued from Page 24)
FORMER SILENT
Woman on Telegraph in Tel-
Ex Center, will become
known as Fingers in a week
or so...selling only sand-
wiches in an altogether new
and elegant decor.
NEW PARTNERSHIP
team make up Sail Inn and
Port Hole Lounge on Tele-
graph and 10 Mile...Bill Lip-
pman takes the place of Iry
Grodan as the second, mate
with Danny Vassel...Plans
call for complete revamping
of the operation .including
a big change back to a regu-
lar restaurant concept.
ED MORTON has been
manager of the Standard
Club at Detroit Cadillac
Hotel for 14 years, doing a
wonderful job very much
appreciated . by the mem-
bers...He will definitely con-
tinue in this same capacity
when the club moves to
Detroit Plaza in Octo-
ber...Sal Marino will man-.
age it for the Plaza.
- NO MORE NOSHERIE
delicatessen...The former
one in Lincoln Center will
be opened again in October
under name of Bread Bas-
ket Deli.
IT'S A FAMILY affair
now at Kingsley Inn on
Woodward in West
Bloomfield...with all partici-
pants combining a lot of res-
taurant know-how...Owners
are Gabe Zawideh, bossman
at the Winetasters in Ster-
ling Heights, and brother
Sam Zawideh, owner of Cor-
doba's on W. Seven
Mile... General manager of
Kingsley is Gabe's son,
Ramsey, a 1974 graduate in
restaurant management
from Michigan State.
JIM COX continues til
Oct.1 with his mixture of
songs and humor, Monday
through Saturday, at the
Ryan Road House, 14 Mile
and Ryan.
BILL ROGERS, 4:30 to
7:30 cocktail time pianist at
Hurley's in the Northfield
Hilton on Crooks and 1-75.
likes the soft-easy listening
sounds of Barry Manilow,
Barbra Streisand, Neil Dia-
mond and Jackson
Browne...Manilow is his
favorite...Bill has put
together a medley of com-
mercials he's written, but
never published. that is a
take-off on Manilow's own
commercial medley.
His biggest ambition.
though, is putting a band
together to give his music
the full. rich sound he likes
so well.
RALPH WILKINS is new
manager of the Giraffe
Disco at Raleigh
House...brought in to put
some new life into the dis- ,
cotheque...For starters
there is no cover charge
each Tuesday and Wednes-
day...and all drinks are half-
price from 4:30 to 10:30 on

Evergreen Plaza...If it's
always like this, owners
Tony Mendola, John Pavlik,
Tom Gerardi and Robert
Keena, have a good thing
going for them.
A locally owned chain,
Pizza Boy is in only two
states now... Michigan and
Florida...In a couple of
weeks, the second local
operation will be in Monroe.
WHEN YOU HAVE three
owners of a place who are
as meticulous as those who
own the new Tunnel Bar-B-
Q of Southfield the prime
factor of at least one of
them always there taking
an active part, you've really
got something.
Bossmen Thom Racovitis,
Chris Stoiantsis and Cole-
man Friedman opened their
Northwestern and 12 Mile
Rd. spot only after they
were sure the long-standing
Windsor reputation would be
maintained in preparation
of ribs, chicken, etc., and
service.
The fact that one is con-
stantly on the premises,
gives the employees "on the
ball" confidence...Yet there
is still one day of staff train-
ing...Tunnel of Southfield is
open six days, 11:30 to 1
