2 Local Eye Specialists;
Croll Brothers, Donate
for Hadassah Center

Local eye specialists Drs. Leo
and Maurice Croll have made a
gift of a "cryostylet unit"(for the
removal of cataracts) to the Had
assah-Hebrew University Medical
Center, in a tribute to the uni-
versity's opthalmology department.
The two doctors, Invited to lec-
ture at the department, headed by
Dr. Isaac Michaelson, were so im-
pressed by the medical facilities
and treatment of patients that
they called it one of the finest eye
research departments in the world.
The Crolls, 40-year veterans in
the field, developed a technique,
called "cryoslide technique for
cataract removal" using the Kel-
man cryostylet unit. They promised
Dr. Michaelson they would make
a gift of the revolutionary new unit
to the medical center.
The brothers made arrange-
ments for the purchase of the unit
by Hadassah at a cost of $750. But
they turned around and contri-
buted that amount to Hadassah for
the purchase.
