The Married Couples Club of
Adas Shalom Synagogue will hold
its first meeting 9 p.m. Wednesday
at the synagogue. Jack Barnes will
give instruction in the latest dance
steps and refreshments will be
served. Prospective members are
welcome.
The club will climax its mem-
bership drive with a "Fireman's
Ball" 9 p.m., Oct. 22 at Upland
Hills Farm.
The Charles Grosberg Religious
Center was closer to reality Tues-
day with the cornerstone laying
of the University Center Building
at Wayne State University.
The religious center, in a spec-
ial section of the building. will
house 14 campus religious groups
and is named for the Detroit phil-
anthropist who donated $175,000
in Israel Bonds towards its con-
struction.
Burt B. Wolf, chairman of the
Council of Religious Advisers, took
part in the cornerstone ceremony,
along with Dr. William R. Keast,
president of WSU, and other offic-
ials. The building is located on old
Second Avenue between Merrick
and Kirby.
There will be refreshments, a
hayride, square dancing and a mid-
