Marshall Shulman
To Address Masada
At Shaarey Zedek
"A report from Lake Success" is
the topic to be discussed by Mar-
shall' Shulman, press officer to
the United States delegation at
the United Nations, at the Mas-
ada meeting at 2:30 p.m. Sun-
day, Jan. 15, in the Shaarey Zed-
ek social hall.
A native Detroiter; Shulman is
a graduate of the University of
Michigan and of the Russian In-
stitute at Columbia University,
and a former staff member of
the Detroit News.
He is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Harry M. Shulman.
A band will play music for
dancing, following the formal
portion of the meeting. Refresh-
ments will be served. There will
be a nominal charge for nttn-
members. Masada members will
be admitted free. Young adults
between 18 and 30 are invited to

Jr. Hadassah Delays
Starting Clock; Radio
Quizdown Scheduled
Anxious to give Detroiters the
opportunity of participating in
its fund-raising project, Jr.
Hadassah will postpone starting
of its eight-day clock, located
in Nate's Delicatessen.
Proceeds' will be used in sup-
port of the \ Children's Village
in Israel, Meier Shefeyah; Par-
dess Anna, ,an organge grove;
and the Henrietta Szold School
of Nursing.
At 2 p.m. this Sunday, Jan.
15, Jr. Hadassah will present a
radio quizdown at Halevy Hall,
Linwood and Oakman. Ann Ze-
lonka, program chairman, an-
nounces that quizmasters are to
be Annette Gold, Sybil Cutler,
Phyllis Ashman, Rose Litinsky
and - Ann Stoller. Singing and
dancing will follow.

son and daughter-in-law of Mr.

Sturtevant, are leaving for Israel
from New York on Jan. 23.
The young couple is going to
Israel with Habonim's Garin Bet
group. In Israel they will under-
go Hachshara training at Geva,
after which the group will form
its own kibutz.
Friends and well-wishers are

ception in their honor at their

between 2 and 7 p.m., Sunday,

'50 Youth Week Set
For March 24 to 31
The third annual Jewish Youth
Week, held under the auspices of
the National Jewish Youth Con-
ference, will be observed nation-
ally March 24 to 31, it was an-
nounced by Arnulf Pins, confer-
ence chairman at the close of
the quarterly meeting of the
confernce executive committee
held here.
"Working Together — Jewish
Youth Build" was selected as the
theme for 1950's Jewish Youth
Week.
The first of a series of inform-
ative meetings and socials of
the revitalized Detroit branch
of Hechalutz will take place at
8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, at
the Labor Zionist Institute,
13722 Linwood.
Shaul Weinberg, national di-
rector of Hechalutz, will attend
and discuss the problems of the
local group. He is currently
touring the country, working out
problems of Hechalutz branches
in preparation for the pioneer
movement's convention in New
York next month.
The Vaad Hechalutz is spon-
soring the affair, which is open

The Young Peoples Club of the
