A native Detroiter; Shulman is a graduate of the University of Michigan and of the Russian In- stitute at Columbia University, and a former staff member of the Detroit News. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry M. Shulman. A band will play music for dancing, following the formal portion of the meeting. Refresh- ments will be served. "Working Together — Jewish Youth Build" was selected as the theme for 1950's Jewish Youth Week. The first of a series of inform- ative meetings and socials of the revitalized Detroit branch of Hechalutz will take place at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, at the Labor Zionist Institute, 13722 Linwood. Shaul Weinberg, national di- rector of Hechalutz, will attend and discuss the problems of the local group. He is currently touring the country, working out problems of Hechalutz branches in preparation for the pioneer movement's convention in New York next month.
