Education of Wayne University.
Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Rill of Winnipeg, Canada, were the guests
of -I. Ressler and family of W. Euclid Ave. for several days. .
' Mr. and Mrs. J. Tenenberg of Miler Ave. entertained 150 guests
at a reception in honor of their son-in-law, Martin Selik, who -left
lest Wednesday for service in the navy.
. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard H. Bloch, formerly of Longfellow Ave.,
are now residing at the Whittier.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Scheffres and daughter, Harriet, and Mrs.
Lillie Bloch, who were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard H. Bloch,
have returned to their home in Chicago. •
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Tenenberg of 16568 Tuller Ave. will be at
home to relatives and friends 8 to 11 p. m. this Friday, June 16,
in honor of the graduation of their daughter, Shirley Bernice, from
Commerce High School.
A reception in honor of Capt. Jack D. Kutnick, who is home on
leave - after 18 months of service in Alaska, will be held from 4 to
7 p. m. Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack A. Cohen of 18715
Kentucky. No cards.
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Gould of Roselawn Ave. celebrated their 25th
wedding anniversary over the Decoration Day week-end in New
York. They entertained 50 guests at Hotel New Yorker. Among
those present was Bob Hall. Supreme Court Justice Frank Murphy
was among those who congratulated the Goulds over the long
distance telephone.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Goldberg of the Belcrest were hosts to
their sister and brother, Mr. and Mrs. Dory Raynes of New York,
during the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Raynes arrived to attend the
consecration of their niece, Betty Goldberg, from Congregation
Shaarey Zedek on June 4.
Abraham Sandler and daughter, Mrs. Meyer Drew. s of 2515 W.
Euclid Ave., returned from a week's trip through the East, where
they visited with relatives. .
Miss Ethel Isenberg has returned from her studies at Bradford
Junior College, Bradford, Mass., to spend the summer with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. William B. Isenberg of Edison Ave. En route
home she spent a few days in New York City.
Mrs. Lucy Roth of Chicago is spending 10 days as the guest of
Mrs. Monroe Rosenfield of the Belcrest Hotel.
Mrs. Samuel J. Levin and' her son, Paul, are expected home
from Norfolk, Va., and will spend the summer in their home in
Brighton.
Mrs. Flora Levy D'ancona of St Clair Ave. has left for an ex-
tended stay in New Haven, Conn., and New York City.
Nancy Cohen of St. Louis is spending a week as the guest of
Mary Brown of Lucern Dr. Her cousin, Louise Cohen, who accom-
panied her from St. Louis, is the guest of Betty Ziv of Wildemere
Ave. In honor of the two guests, Betty and Mary, and Mary's cousin,
Ruth Frank, will be the hostesses at a party to be given next Tues-
day at th Franklin Hills Country

their guest Mr. Oppenheim 'S father, Jacob Oppenheim of Cleveland.
Mr. and Mps:- Benjamin Shwayder of _Fairfield Ave. have as
their guest - Mrs. Shwayder's father, Michael Clamage of Chicago.
Her-baither-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Caplan, have
-returned to their home in Chicago after a short visit.
Mrs. Robert Marwil of LaSalle Blvd. has returned from Belvoi ,.,
Va., where she visited with her son-in-law and 'daughter, Lt. and
Mrs. Robert Morrison.
Dr.. and Mrs. Albert Krohn of Cambridge Ave. and Dr. and
Mrs. Leon Cowen of Longfellow Ave. have returned from a month's
stay. in Los Angeles, where they were guests at the- Ambassador
Hotel.
Mts. Stanley Friedman of Broadstreet Blvd. has returned from
'Washington, D. C., where she visited her husband, Pvt. Friedman.
Dr. and -Mrs. I. Irving Bittker of Atkinson Ave. are spending a
week in Chicago.
Mr. and Mrs. George Seligman have moved from Rochester Ave.
and are now residing at 17187 Roselawn Ave.

Sgt. Herbert Keidan returned to his post on Wednesday after
a week's furlough spent with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
Keidan of Calvert Ave.
Miss Gloria Rosman left on 'Saturday for New London, Conn.,
where she will be the guest of Miss Florence Beit.
Miss Marcia Ermann of Merton Rd. is spending a fortnight in
Cincinnati visiting with her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and and
Mrs. Joseph Ullman.
Capt. Samuel Gingold has returned to his post at Camp Hood
after a short leave spent with Mrs. Gingold and her mother, Mrs.
Joseph Ehrlich of the Belcrest Hotel.
Mr. and Mrs. Meyer Rosenbaum of Boston Blvd. were hosts to
a group of their friends at a garden party last Tuesday evening.
Dr. and Mrs. S. E. Gould of Dearborn spent a week in Chicago.
Pfc. Myron Rosenthal,' who has been stationed at Yuma, Ariz.,
is spending his 15-day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Isaac Rosenthal of Blaine Ave., before leaving for his new post in
Lincoln, Neb.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank .Denison of Northlawn Ave. have as their
guest Mrs. Denison's father, A. L. Berkman of Waco; Texas.
Mr. and Mrs. Casper C. Culler of Collingwood Ave. - were hosts
to a group of their friends at a cocktail party which was followed
by a hay ride last Sunday evening., The party was given for the
pleasure of Mrs. Cutler's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
I. D. Friedman of Lawrence Ave., who are leaving the end of this
month to make their home in Los Angeles.
Lt. (j:g.) Mandel Berman has returned to his post after spending
a short leave with his parents, Mr. • and Mrs. Julius Berman of
Burlingame Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Isadore Weiner have returned from Miami Beach,
where they spent the winter months, and at present are making
their home with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. David

Hebrew University Ships
Typhus Serum to Russia
JERUSALEM (JTA) — T h e
Bacteriological Department of
the Hebrew University this week
sent 25,000 cubic centimeters of
anti-typhus serum to Russia. The
serum was shipped by airplane
by way of Teheran. It is a gift.
to Russia from the Uruguyan
Jewish Committee to Aid the
Allies.
