Reverend Florovsky to Speak
On Russian Religious Themes

The Rt. Reverend Georges Flo-
rovsky will discuss "Religious
Themes in 19th Century Russian
Philosophy and Literature," 4:10
p.m. today in Aud. A, Angell Hall.
The Odessa-born theologian has
most recently taught at Harvard
Divinity School and Columbia Uni-
versity. Before coming to the Unit-
ed States Rev. Florovsky was a
professor of patristics (study of
the doctrine of church fathers) at
the Orthodox Theological Acade-
my in Paris.
His major scholastic efforts have
been the writings of early and By-
zantine church fathers and in his-
tory of religious thought in Russia.
Recently, Florovsky has been ac-
tively working for a union of
