Final Navidzadeh Hearings Set'

Final deportation hearings for
Buick Navidzadeh, Grad., will be
conducted Wednesday in Detroit,
Prof. Beauford J. George of the'
Law School said yesterday.
Navidzadeh filed a petition for
political asylum nearly two months
ago, claiming he would be exe-
cuted by powerful forces in his

native Iran if he should be forced
to return there.
During Wednesday's hearing,
Navidzadeh will present a state-
ment showing why he wishes to
remain in the United States and
will present evidence of his non-
Communist beliefs.

Comedienne
Russell Will
Sing Here~
Anna Russell, noted interna-
tional comedienne, will return to
Ann Arbor March 4, after her con-
cert last summer.
Sponsored by the Michigan
Singers, tickets go on sale next
week in the Administration Build-
ing and on the Diagonal. Members
of the Singers will also contact
sororities, fraternities, residence
halls, League Houses and co-ops.
General admission and block
tickets are priced at $1 for the
main floor and first balcony and
$.50 for second balcony. Miss Rus-
sell will give two shows, one at 7
p.m. and one at 9 p.m., both en-
tirely different.
Famous for her vocal satires,
Miss Russell composes all the mu-
sic scores for her shows, as well as
all the lyrics. Among the many
roles she assumes are a powerful
Wagnerian soprano, the president
of a ladies club introducing a pi-
anist and a wide-ranged Italian
singing of pizza.
Originally a student of serious
music, Miss Russell turned to com-
ic concerts after sliding into and
knocking down a prop church in
a performance of "Cavalleria Rus-
ticana."
She returned to opera recently
when she recorded the voice of
the witch in the movie version of
"Hansel and Gretel" and repeated
the role with the New York City
Center.

direction of Prof. William P. Hal-
stead of the speech department.

James Harvey, '53, will be pre-
miered April 28 to 30. The director
