Any citizen between the ages of

cannot cdnveniently take part in a
regular reserve program. During
peacetime members may resign at
any time.
Both army and navy veterans

parable to ranks held in service.

of Art for four-weeks beginning to-
morrow, according to Professor
Jean Paul Slusser, acting director
of the museum.
Picturing the roles of the church,
the town and the castle in the
everyday life of medieval man, the
24 panels each contain from one
to six photographs with explana-
tory captions, a number of which
aid not appear in the magazine.
In a series of panels devoted to
the church are pictures of the
Cathedral of Chartes, the Abbey
Church at Vezelay, Fountains Ab-
bey and sculptural details and
color reproductions of stained
glass from Bourges and Chartes.
Town life in the Middle Ages
is portrayed by engravings of
street scenes and glimpses of Nur-
emburg, Dinkelsbuhl, Avignon and
others centers of medieval life.
Another division of the exhibit
is devoted to the feudal life cent-
ering around the lord's castle.
Color reproductions include the
Unicorn Hunt tapestry, now in
The Cloisters, Metropolitan Muse-
um of Art, and Life in the Manor,
from a fifteenth century Flemish
manuscript in the Morgan Lib-
rary.

Warm weather is here to stay, and as your thoughts
turn to picnics, portable phonographs and lighter music
for the summer months, we're sure you'll want to come
in and look over our shelves of popular sets. The record
companies have always been conscientious about putting
out good "Pops" albums, but lately there have been
particularly good offerings .. .
... Fine vocal albums are plentiful by such favorites
as Dinah Shore, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Mercer, Jo Staf-
ford, Andy Russell, Bing Crosby and others.
The Jazz at the Philharmonic series, consisting of
four volumes, heads the instrumental listing as being
what is perhaps the most vigorous jazz playing yet
recorded . . . Many fine performers are represented
within the covers of the Capitol History of Jazz set,
which also consists of four highly charged volumes.. .
worth looking into are the Stan Kenton, Freddy Martin,
Tommy Dorsey, Woody Herman, and Harry James
