THE AIR. Rev. Charles E. Cough-I
lin, Royal Oak radio priest, last night
carried out his previously announced
intention of cancelling his contracts
for 26 broadcasts this winter.
Father Coughlin's office yesterday
advised Stanley G. Boynton, presi-
dent of Aircasters, Inc., that the
proposed series would not go on the
air.
MISTAKES MAN FOR POLICE-,
MAN. FACES FEDERAL EXECU-
TION. Anthony Chebatoris was li-
able today to a federal murder charge
with a maximum penalty of death
when Henry S. Porter, 45 year old
Bay City truck driver, died of wounds
inflicted by bank robbers who mistook
him for a policeman after a frustrat-
ed holdup of the Chemical State Sav-
ings Bank at Midland, Sept. 29.
Chebatoris, 39 years old, was cap-
tured after his accomplice, Jack
Gracey of Detroit, was killed by Dr.
Frank L. Hardy, Midland dentist,
