Hopkins Pledges Relief
For All Who Will Need It
CHICAGO, Nov. 24 -(/P)- The na-
tion's needy were assured today of
further aid from their government.
The assurance came from Federal
Administrator Harry L. Hopkins, who
told the mayors of 95 of the country's
chief cities that as long as there was
need of relief the people would get
it.
He replied to charges of waste with
a declaration that the costs of his re-
lief administrations averaged seven
and a half per cent as against 30 to 40
per cent for private organizations. He
said that while he had "no apologies
to offer" there would be a modifica-
tion of methods employed in relief
work.

Bodies Of Three Young
Girls Found On Hillside'
CARLISLE, Pa., Nov. 24 -(A)- The
bodies of three golden-haired girls,
aged about 8, 10 and 13, were found
huddled together beneath two blank-
ets on a wild mountain side near Car-
lisle today.
Sergt. Gene Wood, of the Carlisle
police, said that the throats of the
girls bore fingermarks, indicating that
they had been choked. He said that
the face of the oldest girl had turned
a bluish color.
Elmer Hockley, of Pine Grove Fur-
nace, a forest ranger for 18 years,
said: "I think I have seen them. But
I don't remember where or when.
I'm trying tq get it straightened out
in my mind."
Coroner E. A. Haegele says he be-
lieves that the children were dead
when taken to the mountain. He ex-
pressed the belief that they were
brought from a distance, as no chil-
dren have been reported missing in
this vicinity.
