FRATERNITY MEN g ,
Pr~eacher Says Fraternity Of Past Was
Constitated Of Snobs 'Who Were
Exclusive and Bound By Secrets
"GIVES SERVICE TODAY"
rNEW YORK, Nov. 30.-By making
the student member realize that his
fraternity life is the beginning of
*world service, college fraternities can
be converted into a national asset, Dr.
Jahn Allen Blair, pastor of Tabernacle
Presbyterian church told 300 frater-
nity mn attending the 17th annual
interfraternity conference here.
"The fraternity of the past was con-I
stituted of snobs," Dr. Blair s'aid,
"who were exclusive and bound to-
gether by secret ties. Fraternity men
formerly shut out the world and look-
ed only at each other. Now they are
beginning to realize the new ideal of
world service and are learning how
to handle the great problems of life.
"The fraternity today is a great na-
tional force because it is composed of
Souths. It has greater potentialities{
for service than any group now or-
ganized to promote the welfare of
'man. Don't conisder fraternity ideals
as cards to play with, but as tools for1"
great world service," he plead.
