Dean Emma M. Gillett, of the Wash-I
ington College of Law, is the only
woman dean of a law school in thel
country. As chairman of the lawyers'
ccuncil of the Woman's party she
called the conference of women law-
yers held recently in connection with
the conference of national and state
officers of the party. The lawyers met
to aid in the drafting of the proposed
Equal Rights bill which the National
Woman's party is working for at
presen:.
"Having consulted men lawyers of
prominence in all fields of law and in
all parts of the country," Dean Gil-
lett explained, "the Women's party
will now seek the advice of the wo-
men members of the legal profession.
"The revision of our laws to elim-
inate antiquated legal discriminations
against women and to substitute the
principle of legal equalty between
men and women is a question of prim-
ary importance to women members of
the legal profession."
The lawyers' council of the Woman's
party was organized during the sum-
mer and includes approximately 100
women members of the bench and bar
in 18 states. Dean Gillett who was
admitted to the bar more than 20
years ago was one of the organizers of
the lawyers' council.

Ieather bookmarkers, in the shape
of footballs, and bearing the signa-
tures of Coach Yost and members of
the Varsity team, netted more than
$43 for the Women's League, at an,
auction held Saturday noon at Bet-
sy Barbour house. Three markers,
-igned by Paul Goebel, were sold for
$11.10. .
