As chairman of the lawyers' ccuncil of the Woman's party she called the conference of women law- yers held recently in connection with the conference of national and state officers of the party. The lawyers met to aid in the drafting of the proposed Equal Rights bill which the National Woman's party is working for at presen:. "Having consulted men lawyers of prominence in all fields of law and in all parts of the country," Dean Gil- lett explained, "the Women's party will now seek the advice of the wo- men members of the legal profession. "The revision of our laws to elim- inate antiquated legal discriminations against women and to substitute the principle of legal equalty between men and women is a question of prim- ary importance to women members of the legal profession." The lawyers' council of the Woman's party was organized during the sum- mer and includes approximately 100 women members of the bench and bar in 18 states. Dean Gillett who was admitted to the bar more than 20 years ago was one of the organizers of the lawyers' council.
