Through their superior team work
the junior engineers nosed out the
freshlitsrby a score of 7 to 6 in a
fast hockey game yesterday afternoon.
The expert passing of the engineers
was too much for the lits. At the end
of the first half the score was 3 to 1
in favor of the junior engineers.
Barkell, scoring five goals was the
star of the game. Hosking, scoring
twice and Paul scoring once made the
remainder' of the engineers' total of
eight goals. Dallavo and Busse star-
red for the freshmen. This victory
gives the junior engineers the right
to play the soph lits for second place
in the league.

Today the dents and the senior en-
gineers will play the championship
game of the series at 11 a. m. Since
the game is to be played in the morn-
ing, the entire length of the rink will
be used for the game. This arrange-
'.nent will give the teams adequate
playing space. The game promises
to be the best one of the season as
both teams are very evenly matched.
At 11:30 o'clock tomorrow the soph
lits meet the junior engineers in a
game that will decide the second place
of the league.

Star Now Training
There are but two considerations
which must be fulfilled before it is
certain that the versatile Maize and
Blue track captain will go to New
York. 'he first of these is that he
himself be desirous of going. The
second is that Coach Steve Farrell
thinks him in good enough condition
to be a credit to the University and
himself. Both these requirements
seem likely of realization. Carl is

In preparation for the Junior col-
lege meet to be held here on the aft-
ernoon of Jan. 31, the swimmers, un-
der the tutelage of Coach Drulard, are
practicing on the long distances. Dru-
lard is making the men swim the 440-
yard dash and by so doing intends to
strengthen their ability in the 100-
yard sprint and the 220-yard dash.
r The men who have only been prac-
ticing three times a week are running
within one second of Conference rec-
ords, which, if this may be taken as a
criterian of their ability, would put
them in the class of the best that the
Big Ten has to offer. Should swim-
ming be adopted as a Varsity sport at
Michigan, Coach Drulard said: "The
men will practice five times a week
instead of the customary three times
that they have practiced in the past.
This, I believe, would make a consid-
erable change in the time now being
made by the swimmers."
Babcock, '22, pulled down the 220-
yard dash from three minutes, 38 sec-
ond, to three minutes, 10 seconds, a
decrease in time of 28 seconds. Bab-
cock, who is essentially a sprinter, is
branching into the diving end and. is
obtaining good results in this field.

WHEN BOWLERS
MEET
Fun, good health, good nature
and good cheer are always in
evidence when bowlers meet.
When exercise takes the form
of play it is worth hours of grim
calisthenics with the dumb-
bells.
Keep fit. Keep in trim. Stu-
dents must take care of their
health, or the danger of break-
down is ever present.
Get in the game today.
