Members of the class of 1918 will
gather at 7:00 o'clock tonight in west
physics lecture room in preparation
for their participation in the annual
fall games Saturday morning.-"
Harold Smith, '16, Varsity track
captain, and Francis T. Mack, '16E,
of the student council, will be the
speakers of the evening, and Francis
F. McKinney, '16L, managing editor of
The Daily, will preside. T. P. Soddy,
'16E, president of the student coun-
cil, will read the rules for the games
to the sophomores.
The freshman class held its pre-
contest mass meeting last night and
were addressed by John Maulbetsch,
'17P, and Maurice Dunne, '17L, of the
football squad. W. A. P. John, '16,
editor of The Gargoyle, acted as pre-
siding officer, and Harold Smith offer-
ed his services as cheer-leader.
The freshmen selected Ward Peter-
son to lead them in the rush on Sat-
urday morning.
Final preparations for the fall con-
test are well under way, and will be
announced tomorrow morning.
It's the qualities of our candies,
along with a rich tasty flavor, which
is winning the taste of candy lovers.

COMEDY CLUB TRYOUTS WILL
BE STAGED THIS AFTERNOON
Men and women wishing to try out
for membership in the Comedy club
will be given their first and only op-
portunity to do so at 4:00 o'clock this
afternoon in the Cercle Francais
rooms.
As a few more women are needed to
fill out the ranks of the club, the mem-
bers of this sex will be especially wel-
come at the tryout, which will con-
sist of a three-minute reading of some
selection, the nature of which the ap-
plicant may decide for himself.
At some time next week first try-
outs will be held for parts in the com-
edy, ."Stop Thief," which the club is
to present as its annual production
some time before Christmas vacation.
Although freshmen will not be allow-
ed to take part in this play, they are
eligible to membership in the club and
will have the opportunity to take part
in its monthly performances.
Faculty 'Gym' Class Begins Its Work
The gymnasium class composed of
members of the university faculty, be-
gan work at the City Y. M. C. A. Tues-
day with an attendance of 10. Fifteen
have enrolled up to date.
