The Kind of Men
Who wear clothing tailored by us is
h, guarantee of both its character and
economy. To be well dressed a man
must be individually fitted and we
do that perfectly. The result is a
style and distinction not otherwise
possible.
We are now showing our new spring
and summer importations. We lead
as usual in designs, quality and work-
manship. Orders taken now for future
delivery.

THERE is some style for

his attire to his own individu-

his individuality to ready-

AMONG COLLEAGUES.
When the average student hears a
faculty man criticising another facul-
ty man, he is unfavorably impressed.
He may quite agree with the observa-
tions made, but he cannot help but
feel that he would rather learn of the
imperfections of the faculty from oth-
er lips than from those of faculty mem-
bers. Unfortunately, disparagement
is rather common among some instruc-
tors as regards other men in their de-
partment, their college or in other col-
leges of the university.
It is not the function of a student
newspaper to dictate or suggest cours-
es of action for members of the teach-
ing force. If the mutual criticism in.
question were altogether sincere and
provoked only by a desire to better
conditions, on the part of faculty men
and among faculty men, the matter
would go unnoticed. But this is not
so. Some of the cross-fire .of petty ac-
cusations is so bitter as to savor of
selfishness. Fortunately, this criti-
cism is not applicable to many of the
best men on the various faculties;
where it is in point, it is to be wonder-
ed whether the offenders are not un-
awar of the impression which their
fault-finding leaves on those outside of
the body of officers of the university.
Has Dr. Mez taken Battle Creek into
consideration when he speaks of "The
Place of Force in Modern Civiliza-
tion?"
The man who wears a 'kerchief up
his sleeve is not always he who took
his undergraduate work in the east.
Why buy text-books when friend
roomie took the course last semester,
and doesn't want to sell 'em?
To prime an old fount of discussion,
what is so rare as a drink of water on
the campus?
With a little of the wax still left,
fresh gym classes might learn danc-
ing.
Among the meeker ones now is he
who rode around in taxis last week-
end.
Working harder from now onis the
universal consolation.
The week of worry-for laws, any-
way.
Meanwhile, rumors, rumors.
And more rumors.

chell, '18, for the freshmen.

Iyde Park Baptist church of Chicago,
who will speak at the Majestic meet-
ing for men Sunday night, will remain
for the first few days of next week for
a series of meetings in Newberry hall

tian faith will be discussed.
