INTERCOLLEGIATE
MINNEAPOLIS, MINN., Oct. 4.-A
new spirit is felt stirring about Min-
nesota this fall. Not only have the
students in general about the campus
sensed it but, likewise, the men who
out on Northrup field trudge through
long hours of grind have perceived it
and have taken its meaning to heart.
The new spirit is responsible for larg-
er attendance at early games than ever
before, and for the snappy mass-meet-
ings that precede these games.
Coach Williams started the year
with a full team of veterans. At his
call assembled sixty freshmen and in-
eligibles, some of whom have already
proved their worth and have been
placed upon the second eleven. The
veterans with whom "Doc" Williams
will work, number twelve.
