York Life, written by Bayard Veiller,
will be presented at the Whitney the-
atre tonight with a clever
cast and a lavish production. This
play, which depicts a girl's struggle
in the underworld, after having been
unjustly sent to prison, is the tri-
umphantly successful dramatic offer-
ing of the year in both New York and
Chicago.
"The District Leader."
Another successful musical tabloid
comedy, "The District Leader," writ-
ten and composed by Joe Howard, will
be the attraction at the Whitney the-
atre the last three days of this week,
with matinees Friday and Saturday at
3:00 o'clock.. A company of 35 people
and all of the original scenery will
be provided. Prices ranging from 20
to 35 cents will prevail.

Watch out 1914, you are in grave
danger. Your splendid record as a
class is about to be jeopardized. You
whlo would accuse, think twice, before
you speak. What may seem technical-
ities to you, may be moral issues to
others. Be temperate and trust in the
fairness and honesty of the student
council.
Remember above all else, that no
one is playing politics. It is no clique
movement. Men whose honesty. is
above impeachment judged the case.
Justice prevails. Show loyalty to
yourclass and to Michigan institutions
by accepting their verdict. Otherwise,
you will but repeat the faux pas of
1911.
FIGHT 'EM.
The leashes will be cut on Saturday
and the underclassmen, forcibly sup-
pressed until the present, will clash.
The fight will be manly, open, class
against class. It will be a brave man's
fight.
All that public opinion that ,has de-
plored night hazing, heartily supports
the annual rush. It is so heartily sup-
ported that Saturday morning classes
are dismissed by faculty order. The
student council has taken it under
its protecting wing.
Michigan custom demands that ev-
ery able bodied freshman and sopho-
more be on hand Saturday morning to
defend his class. But as we said be-
fore, it takes a brave man to enter
the scrap. No loyal classman can miss
it.
Are you to show that you are a brave
man as well as an underclassman?
MUSIC AND DRAMA.
The second faculty concert of the
year will be held this afternoon at 4:15
o'clock in the school of music. Mrs.
George B. Rhead of the piano depart-
ment will offer an interesting and var-
ied program.
