W ORST TIME FOR A FAMILY:
When the Mallorys of Indiana face the
Mallorys of Michigan
You have Bill, the head coach at Indiana; son Mike, a
graduate assistant coach for the Hoosiers; and Doug, a
defensive back for Michigan. Now, after Doug has graduated,
the youngest son Curt is coming to Michigan to extend the
most written-about confrontation since the McCoys and the
Hatfields.

BEST QUOTE: Gary Grant
After Glen Rice scored 40 points at home against
Minnesota, Grant said, "Glen is the second best player in the
country -next to myself."
BEST DUNK:
Glen Rice against Central Michigan
When Rumeal Robinson's free-throw miss hit the back
rim and caromed .way up into the air, Rice's body went

soaring up, so high that his waist was even with the rim.
He caught the ball with one hand and brought the ball back
down with resounding authority, sending Crisler Arena into
a frenzy.
BEST SHOT: Bill Frieder
After walking off the court at halftime, holding a
commanding 61-28 lead over Iowa, Frieder reared back and
fired a beautiful shot at a cameraman who got in his way.
WORST SHOT: Darin Schubring
When Michigan put Wisconsin's 6-10 center at the foul
line, Schubring provided Wolverine fans with the funniest
moment of the season. On Schubring's first attempt, he put
up an air ball. His second attempt wasn't much better - a
brick.

BEST BUILDING: The Law Quad
No big surprise here though we were kind of shocked
at the lack of support for Tally Hall and the
Administration Building. I mean what's the deal? Where
do you folks think we are - England or something?
BEST DORM: East Quad
We're not sure why this category is here either, but
"the Quad" nosed out its cousins to the West and South
as well as Mosher Jordan. It must have been the
ambience.
BEST BAR: Rick's
For the second year in a row, Rick's won as best bar
while finishing second in the voting as "the worst place
to take a date." Think about it.
BEST NIGHTCLUB:
The Nectarine Ballroom
We have to admit something - we're not exactly
sure who goes here but evidently quite a few people do.
The Nectarine easily pulled away from the Blind Pig,
The Bird of Paradise (our choice), and Rick's. And,
no- Dominick's is not a nightclub!
BEST HAPPY HOUR: Dominick's
An easy winner and it's easy to see why. The mason
jars and plenty 'o' outdoor seating make this the perfect
place to kick back on a balmy Frida- afternoon.
