Eric Holdreith, 10, of Chelsea,
obviously found his high another
way. "I'm just handing around
trying to cop a buzz," he said,
joint in hand. "I've been smok-

The highlight of the day was
an impromptu striptease on the
steps of the Graduate Library.
Karen Wallace and David Laird
did their thing for a crowd of
cheering onlookers and eager
photographers.
"It feels good to walk around
with no clothes," said Wallace.j
"I used to do it all the time in
high school."
"WE'RE BOTH Pisces," she
offered by way of explanation,
"and the only reason David'
covered himself is because .
well, you know how males are
about their penises."
The police kept a low profileI
during the festivities, claimingj
no knowledge of illegal activi-I
ties. "All we did was tow il-I
legally parked cars away," said
Ann Arbor Police officer Van-
dam. "There's no dope ,prpblem1

Bob Havens echoed the gen-

Zimwalt says that immediately
after a conversation with Kis-
singer on a train to the Army-
Navy football game in Philadel-
phia, ontNov. 8, 1970, he wrote
these notes:
"K. feels that U.S. has passed
its historical. high point like so
many earlier civilizations. He
believes U.S. is .on downhill and
cannot be. roused by political
challenge. He states that his
job is to persuade the Russians
to give us the best deal-we can
get, recognizing that the his-
torical forces favor them.
j "He says that he realizes that
in the light of history he will
be recognized as one of those
who negotiated terms favorable
to the Soviets, but that the
American people h a v e only
themselves to blame because
they lack stamina to stay the
course against the Russians
who are 'Sparta to our
Athens.' "
YESTERDAY, Funseth said
that as an historian, Kissinger
"couldtnot have made a state-
ment that the United States is
to Athens as the Soviet Union is
to Sparta. But he believes that
in the exuberance of the politi-
cal campaign Gov. Reagan per-
haps forgot that Athens sur-
vived Sparta by several cen-
turies."
Funseth also said Reagan's
portrayal of Helmut Sonnen-
feldt, a close Kissinger aide, as
saying that Eastern European
nations should give up their
sovereignty to the Soviet Union
was an "irresponsible allega-
tion" and "a total fabrication."
Sonnenfeldt "never said any-
thing like that, nor are these re-
marks attributed by Gov. Rea-
gan to Mr. Sonnenfeldt in any
way reflective of administration
policy toward Eastern Europe,"
Funseth said.
