appointment.
Why haven't more students
gone to see their files? There
seem to be a variety of reasons,
ranging from simple lack of
curiousity to fear of problems
in getting an appointment.
"I guess if I'm curious
sometime I'll go in and see it,
but it really doesn't matter to
me now," one sphomore
shrugged.
Another student explained,
"From all the hassle I've heard
it takes, I decided not to both-
er."'
ONE freshperson though,
seemed very enthused about
the prospect of examining the
once hush-hush documents. "I1
haven't had time yet, but I'd
love to know what's in there",
she said. "There could be all
kinds of strange things."
One student who did take the
effort to see her files, found
several unusual items in her re-
cords. The student, who wished
to remain anonymous, discov-.
ered that a grade school teach-

er had written that she lacked
leadership ability -- informa- ,
tion she now-finds unfair and
unimportant.
High school counselor com-
ments have always been the
most controversial secret por-'
tion of the files. Some students
disagree about the confidential-
ity.
One sophomore complained,

Pete Newhouse had planned
to switch dorms. Due to the way
the lottery is structured, how-
ever, if Newhouse doesn't re-
turn to his current dorm, he
may not get a room at all.
"I'VE LOST any chanceof
getting in there (the other
dorm) now," Newhouse said.
"There should be a way to
switch dorms."
Because of the lottery and
the housing squeeze, ,more stu-
dents may apply for dorm space
this year than normally. Sever-
al persons said they had plan-
ned to live in apartments next
year. Because they had not
found any, the students were

following the appearance of
news reports linking the CIA
and the Mafia to assassination
plots against Castro.
