U' Receives Cyclotron's Magnet Core

CYCLOTRON MAGNET DELIVERED-A truck transports a 310-ton magnet core for the Univer-
sity's new cyclotron to the site of a new North Campus nuclear laboratory. Installation is scheduled
to begin next'week for the giant magnet, which will be used by University physicists to study the
nuclei of heavy elements. The cyclotron will be operational in 1963.

building to house the Institute of
Scienct and Technology 'offices
and several laboratories for it.

pus buildings and at Willow Run
Laboratories, which were incor-
porated intot it by the Regents this
year.
