ACCORDING TO
Barksdale, the number of wild
game in MiChigan is "not too
bad." There are lots of deer
and bre rabbi t seems to be on
the increase. But 'he pointed
out that the club concentrates
on a different kind of hoot
ing.
"We do competitive shoot
ing at targets," Barksdale
said. "We belong to ATA
(Amer] can Trap Shooting As
sociation) and WSTA
(Western Trap Shooting As
sociation). "
The cl ub, w.h ic h has ap
proximately 150 members,
has enough women members
to have a women's auxiliary.
Individual members of the
cl ub compete throughout the
Uni ted States, Barksdale said.
Although the club does
fish-fly fish, this is a game
I DON'T KNOW if it was
self defense or not, but Mal
com pulled the trigger and
one hundred and seventy-five
pounds of bear crashed to the
ground.
Malcom said, "That's the
biggest game I've ever shot."
Barksdale said the club
holds it annual dinner the first
or second Saturday each
March. And, he added, "We
are looking for young people
and we will teach them how to
shoot. n -
