Present Laughter by Noel
Coward is about the antics of
a group of close friends. They
are “pretenders” to high soci-
ety who have polished their
behaviors to mimic those above
them. The primary character is
a reluctantly aging matinee idol
who experiences the “loneliness
of fame.” It runs for two week-
ends only at Birmingham Village
Players. Thursday, Friday and
Saturday shows begin at 8 pm.
Sunday matinees start at 2 pm.
Individual reserved tickets are
$30 (includes ticketing fee). Flex

BEAUTY ON STAGE

Stagecrafters community theatre
in Royal Oak is staging Disney’s
musical Beauty and the Beast.
Performances will run at the his-
toric Baldwin Theatre. Tickets

PANEL SET

It’s been more than one year
since the day that changed every-
thing. One year later and our chil-
dren still have questions, and we
are so often at a loss for the right
words. The J invites you to a spe-
cial conversation on talking to our
children about Israel, antisemitism

and their own Jewish identity. The
panel will feature curated experts
Rebecca Starr, Leah Blatnikoff
and Brooke Bendix. This evening
is geared toward parents of chil-
dren ages 10 and under.

FAMILY SHABBAT
10:30-NOON, DEC. 7 (SAT.)
At Congregation Beth Ahm in
West Bloomfield. Kids, tot-fifth
grade, are invited with their par-
ents, grandparents and friends.
Age-appropriate youth services;
special activities based on the
holiday during the month and
snacks. Finish on the bimah at
the end of services. Everyone is
invited for lunch. Kids celebrating
a birthday during the month will
receive a special blessing and

treats. “Chanu-kits” will be dis-
tributed by Jewish Family Service
to Metro Detroit families in need.

and reheat at Shir Tikvah; there
will be candlelighting, Chanukah

will be a light lunch available. This
is open to the community.

The Congregation Shaarey
Zedek Sisterhood will host “The
Eretz Tour.” A Chanukah dance
party for girls and ladies of all
