In downtown Ann Arbor,
organized by the Guild of
Artists & Artisans. A juried
fine art event featuring 400
exhibiting artist booths, live
entertainment, art activities;
it is just one of the three art
fairs happening simultane-
ously to create the Ann Arbor
Art Fair.

BIM BOM BABY
10-11 AM, JULY 21 (FRI.)
Bim Bom Baby is a Shabbat
celebration for babies to 5
years old. Join with friends
and make new ones and wel-
come Shabbat with the rabbis
and cantor, play, sing and
braid challah to take home.
Free. At Temple Shir Shalom.

SHABBAT SH’BARBIE
6-10 PM, JULY 21 (FRI.)
At the Bamboo and
Emagine Theater, Royal
Oak. Organized by The
Well. Young adult Barbie
girls and Kens are invited
to join us in their sparkliest
outfits for Shabbat dinner
and a showing of Barbie
on its opening weekend. A
pre-party at Bamboo Royal
Oak will include a screening
of The Tribe, a short film
that uses Barbie (who was
herself created by a Jewish
woman) to illustrate the his-
tory of the Jewish people
and explore the overarching
question of what it means to
be an American Jew today.
After, walk two blocks over
to Emagine Royal Oak to
enjoy the 7:30 pm movie.
Subsidized tickets are avail-
able for $16 per person,
which includes Shabbat
dinner, drinks and admission
to the movie. Theater conces-

SHABBOS CHAZON

At Jewish Ferndale, 1725
Pinecrest, Ferndale. The
Shabbos before Tisha b’Av,
commemorating the destruc-
tion of both Temples in
Jerusalem. This theme will
augment the Shabbos dinner.

Nova Zaii, a composer,
is bringing his solo elec-
tro-acoustic project and his
band The JuJu Exchange to

the DSO Summer Sessions
stage in the DSO Sosnick
Courtyard. The night will high-
light music from his upcoming
project, which features his
patented invention, the Nova
Portals (a touchless instru-
ment) in a Detroit techno and
jazz-infused context. Zaii has
lived in Detroit for five years,
collaborating with the likes of
KESSWA, Wendell Harrison,
Marcus Elliot and many more.

GRAND CAMP DAY
10 AM-1 PM, JULY 23 (SUN.)
Grandparents and grand-
friends, join us with your
grandchildren at the JCC
in West Bloomfield for a
Grand Camp Day. Enjoy
songs at the flagpole, an art
project, a nature scavenger
hunt, Nerf archery, dancing
and a s’more snack. Be
sure to bring a bag lunch,
sunscreen, hat and water
bottle. Wear gym shoes and
layered, comfortable cloth-
ing. This program is geared
toward grandparents/grand-
friends with grandchildren
