A pre-party at Bamboo Royal Oak will include a screening of The Tribe, a short film that uses Barbie (who was herself created by a Jewish woman) to illustrate the his- tory of the Jewish people and explore the overarching question of what it means to be an American Jew today. The night will high- light music from his upcoming project, which features his patented invention, the Nova Portals (a touchless instru- ment) in a Detroit techno and jazz-infused context.
