Taste Of Southfield Returns

Now in its 15th year, the Southfield
Area Chamber of Commerce will
again host the Taste of Southfield
from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at
the Best Western Premier (26555
Telegraph).
The Taste of Southfield has estab-
lished itself as one of Southfield’s pre-
mier annual events, boasting a large
sampling of foods from the area’s best
restaurants and banquet facilities.
This year’s samplings will feature
20 local food establishments, includ-
ing The Nomad, Motor City Soul
Food, Beans & Cornbread, Outback
Steakhouse and over a dozen more.
There will also be pop-up shops
from local vendors, music and danc-
ing, and the coveted Best Restaurant
contest.

The Edible Creations Competition
will take place for its third year at the
event, pitting chefs against each other
to cook with a chosen ingredient and
theme. The competition echoes the
style of Food Network’s popular cut-
throat competition Chopped.
Tickets are available now at www.
tinyurl.com/TasteOfSouthfield2018. A
portion of proceeds the event will ben-
efit Friends of the Southfield Police, a
nonprofit organization providing sup-
port to unmet needs of officers, public
safety individuals and other members
of the community in times of tragedy
or hardship.
