Lynn became a leader at an early age
and remained an example to follow for
her siblings and children. She went on
to epitomize the word, “supermom”
first, as a 35-year-old Michigan State
University student, and later as a com-
munications professional for both
the Michigan attorney general and
Department of Treasury.
Lynn’s generous spirit and unbridled
enthusiasm extended to those beyond
her family, too. She nurtured lifelong
friends and everyday acquaintances,
always putting their needs ahead of her
own.
A lover of life, laughter and family,
Lynn was surrounded by the enduring
love of her husband of 49 years, Ronald
K. Rycus; and her children, BJ (Jill)
Rycus, and Jeremy (Deb) Rycus. She is
also survived by siblings, Teri (Steve)
Barkin and Donny (Bonnie) Kerner;
grandchildren, Isabelle Rycus, Max
Rycus and Leo Rycus.

STEVEN SILK, 59, of
Waterford, died Sept.
20, 2017.
He was the owner of
the Velmeir Companies
in West Bloomfield.
Mr. Silk is survived
by his wife, Donna
Silk
Silk; sons, Ethan Silk
and Elliot Silk; mother,
Ayala Jedwab; brother, Elan “Al” Jedwab;
father-in-law and mother-in-law,
William and Geri Schwanger. He will be
lovingly remembered by colleagues and
friends.
He was the adored son of the late
Meir Jedwab.
Interment was at Adat Shalom
Memorial Park Cemetery. Contributions

DALE THAYER, 61, of Royal Oak, died
Sept. 23, 2017.
He is survived by his beloved hus-
band, Elwin Greenwald; father, Red

Thayer; sisters and brothers-in-law,
Linda (Jim) Clemens, Terri (Delbert)
Watson; sister-in-law, Judy Greenwald;
many loving nieces, nephews, other
family members and friends.
Mr. Thayer was the son of the late
June Long.

daughter of the late Benjamin and the
late Sophie Lefkowitz; the loving sister
of the late Julian Lefkowitz; the dear
sister-in-law of the late Sheldon Klein
and the late Ruth Lefkowitz.
Interment was at Machpelah
