ANNE KATKOWSKY,
92, of West Bloomfield,
died March 2, 2017.
She was the young-
est daughter of nine
children born to Charles
and Ida Greenberg.
Mrs. Katkowsky is

and Suzanne Katkowsky,
Edward Katkowsky and Janet Adler, and
Steven and Jenay Katkowsky; daughter
and son-in-law, Carolyn and Ken Moses;
grandchildren, Beth and David Contorer,
Jeff and Lauren Katkowsky, Joey and Lynn
Katkowsky, David and Rebecca Moses,
Karl Moses and Kiera Florka, and Katey
and Mitch Wagner; 10 great-grandchil-
dren; many loving nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by the father of
her children, Isadore Katkowsky.
Interment was at Oakview Cemetery.

KORENS, 86 of

Bloomfield, died Feb.
22, 2017.
He is survived by his
beloved wife of 66 years,

and son-in-law, Steffi
Korens, Nancy and
Steven Epstein, Lisa Korens; grandchil-
dren, Neeley Edelman and Joey Edelman;
many loving relatives and friends.
Interment was held at the Palm Beach
Memorial Park Cemetery in Lantana,
Fla. Contributions may be made to a

ELI LABINER, 83, of
Flint, died Feb. 27, 2017.
A longtime professor
at Mott College in Flint,
Eli was also an Army
veteran and served in
Japan. He received an
award for sharpshoot-

ing. He also worked
with the University of
Maryland and was able to set up the first

correspondence course for veterans.
Mr. Labiner was active with many
Yiddish clubs in Flint and loved music
and books; he instilled a love of Gilbert
and Sullivan in his family.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years,
Joyce Labiner; daughters and sons-
in-law, Miriam and David Rosen of
Birmingham, Norah Labiner and Michael
Wisti of Minneapolis, Minn.; son and
daughter-in-law, Gideon Labiner and
Karen Mitchell Labiner of Cincinnati,
Ohio; grandchildren, Aaron Rosen,
Sydney Rosen.
Mr. Labiner was the devoted father of
the late Jordan Labiner; dear brother and
brother-in-law of the late Shirley and the
late Sidney Riger.

with Gulf Coast Kids
House for abused chil-
dren. Debbie also was
Pearce
active with the Humane
Society and loved
Boston Terriers.
She is survived by her husband
of 36 years, David Pearce; father,
Marvin Morrison; daughter and son-
in-law, Lauren and Jeremy Bennett of
Cantonment, Fla.; sons, Kyle Pearce and
Tyler Pearce of Cantonment; brother and
sister-in-law, Randy and Ronni Morrison
of Weston, Fla.; sister and brother-in-law,
Mindy and Mark Mitchell of Farmington
Hills; grandchildren, Leia Bennett,
Bianca Bennett; nieces and nephews,
Jason Morrison, Kevin Morrison, Jacob
Morrison, Nigel Mitchell.
Mrs. Pearce was the loving daughter of
the late Ceryle Morrison.

suicide prevention charity. Interment
was held at Hebrew Memorial Park.
