Mr. Goodman was the loving son

She is survived by

brother-in-law, David Barr.
Mrs. Harris was the beloved wife
of the late Jerry Harris; the cherished
grandmother of the late Shauna
Campbell; the devoted daughter of
the late Mollie and the late David
Cooper; the loving sister of the late
Phyllis Barr; the dear sister-in-law of
the late Jerry Robbins.
Interment was at Adat Shalom
Memorial Park. Contributions may be

Library Fund of West Bloomfield,

ROSELLA
HARVITH, 102, of
Waterloo, Ontario,
Canada, died Feb.
28, 2017.
The daughter of
Austro-Hungarian
immigrants Moritz
Harvith
Lebowitz and Eva
Kraus Lebowitz,
Rosella Harvith was
born in Detroit on Sept. 9, 1914; she
was the youngest and last surviving
sibling of seven Lebowitz children.

A graduate of Detroit’s Central
High School, she met her husband
of 69 years, Samuel G. Harvith, on a
blind date while both were students
at Central High. Mr. Harvith died on
April 12, 2007, in Waterloo, Ontario,
at age 92.
Rosella Harvith worked as a retail
sales associate at Himmelhoch
Brothers & Company on Woodward
Avenue in Downtown Detroit prior to
her marriage in June 1937.
Mrs. Harvith became a member of
Congregation Shaarey Zedek 80 years
ago, in 1937. As an active member of
the Shaarey Zedek Sisterhood, she
organized a highly successful fund-
raising gala event for the sisterhood
at Cobo Hall (now Cobo Center)
shortly after the convention center’s
opening. In 2003, she and Samuel
emigrated from the Metropolitan
Detroit area to Canada to live with
their daughter, Sharee Fahidy, and
her husband, Thomas Fahidy.
Mrs. Harvith is survived by her
daughter and son-in-law, Sharee and
Thomas Fahidy; son and daughter-
in-law, John D. Harvith and Susan
Edwards Harvith; six grandchildren;
six great-grandchildren; one great-
great-grandchild; a niece, five neph-
ews, and numerous grand- and great-
grandnephews and nieces.
Interment was at Oakview
Cemetery. Contributions may be
made to a charity of one’s choice.

Mrs. Kane was the beloved wife of
the late Samuel Kane; loving great-
grandmother of the late Noah.

100 Raoul Wallenberg Place, SW,
Washington, D.C. 20024. Services
were held at the David and Sarah
Oppenheim Chapel of Machpelah
Cemetery. Interment was held at
Machpelah Cemetery. Arrangements
