DR. RICHARD E.
MILLER, 75, of
Franklin, died Jan.
7, 2017.
Born in 1941 in
Detroit, Dr. Miller
earned his medical
degree, graduating
Miller
as the valedictorian
of the 1966 class of
the University of
Michigan Medical School.
He had a long career as a profes-
sor, research program director,
research scientist, clinical specialist
in endocrinology and metabolism,
and provider of patient care both
at Case Western Reserve University
School of Medicine and at Wayne
State University School of Medicine.
He was a kind man and a support-
ive mentor to many students and
colleagues. In 2015, he was granted
the position of emeritus professor at
WSU School of Medicine.
He loved his family dearly and
enjoyed many activities, including
bicycling, skiing, sailing, ballroom
dancing, traveling and the annual
family vacation at Camp Michigania.
Dr. Miller unfailingly provided
assistance to family and friends dur-
ing medical crises and was generous
with his time and energy in arrang-
ing care for them. Devoted husband,
father, grandfather, brother and
friend, he was deeply loved and will
be greatly missed by all who knew
him.
Dr. Miller is survived by his wife
of 51 years, Jane Miller; daughters,
Sandy Miller of Ann Arbor, Karen
Miller (Emily Drabinski) of Brooklyn,
N.Y.; brothers and sisters-in-law,
Stan (Kaye) Miller of Farmington
Hills, Jerry (Laura) Miller of Beverly
Hills; brother-in-law and sisters-in-
law, Susan Levitin, James (Susan)
Cohen; grandson, Oscar Miller;
many loving nieces, nephews, great-
nieces, great-nephews, other rela-
tives and a world of friends.
He was the dear brother-in-law of
the late Norman Levitin.
Contributions may be made to

10 Mile Road, Oak Park, MI 48237;
or to a charity of one’s choice.
Interment was held at Clover Hill
Park Cemetery in Birmingham.

BARRY OLEN, 69,
of Fairview, N.C.,
died Jan. 4, 2017.
A very creative
individual, Barry
was the owner of
Beads and Beyond.
He created jew-
elry, sculptures
and leather goods.

He was the president and organizer
of the downtown rehabilitation of
Asheville, N.C. He will be greatly
missed.
Mr. Olen is survived by his sis-
ter and brother-in-law, Sheila and
Dr. Michael Rosenfeld of West
Bloomfield; nieces and neph-
ews, Andrea Rosenfeld, Dr. David
and Shaina Rosenfeld, Linda and
Jonathan Magid; great-nieces and
great-nephews, Alex, Roxanne,
Jason, Charles, Jack, Henry, Lillian;
many other relatives and friends.
Mr. Olen was together for 35
years with his beloved wife, the late
Jennifer Olen.
Contributions may be made to a
charity of one’s choice. Interment
was held at Hebrew Memorial Park.
Arrangements by Hebrew Memorial
Chapel.

RALPH A. RAIMI,
92, died Jan. 2, 2017,
in Ann Arbor,
Michigan.
A native of
Detroit, he lived
in Rochester, N.Y.,
from 1952 until
Raimi
2015. He taught
mathematics at
the University of
Rochester from 1952 to 1994.
Mr. Raimi is survived by his
daughters, Diana Raimi of Ann
Arbor and Jessica Raimi of New York
City; three grandchildren; two great-
grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife,
the actress Sonya Raimi, in 2002.
Contributions in his memory may
be made to the Eastman School of
Music.

DR. LINDA
TUCKER
ROBERTS, 65, of
West Bloomfield,
died Jan. 2, 2017.
She is survived
by her husband,
Joseph Roberts;
Roberts
daughters and son-
in-law, Kelly and
David Schneyer
of West Bloomfield, and Melissa
Roberts of Farmington Hills; son,
Joshua Roberts of West Bloomfield;
grandchildren, Benjamin, Jacob and
Andrew Schneyer; sisters, Marlene
Margolis and Aleen Tucker.
Dr. Roberts was the proud daugh-
ter of the late Bernard and the late
Roslyn Tucker.
Interment was at Beth El
Memorial Park Cemetery.
