NEXTWork event connects young Jewish professionals.

n Thursday, May 12, more than
100 young professionals and
Metro Detroit business leaders
came together for an evening of min-
gling, networking and shmoozing at Will
Leather Goods in Detroit for the latest
NEXTWork event.
Now celebrating its second anniversary,
NEXTWork was started in 2014 through

a partnership between JVS Detroit and
Federation’s NEXTGen Detroit Business
Hub to help young Jewish business pro-
fessionals build their lives and careers in
Metro Detroit.
The May 12 event featured Sue
Mosey, executive director of Midtown
Detroit, who discussed the growth
and excitement happening in the new

Midtown. Attendees took a moment
away from networking to celebrate Yom
HaAtzmaut, Israel’s Independence Day,
with Israeli flags, music and a toast to the
State of Israel.
Sachse Construction sponsored the
event, in conjunction with the Hadas and
Dennis Bernard NEXTWork Endowment
Fund.

The next event in the NEXTWork series
will be a “Crash Course in Cash,” held at
Benzinga Detroit on Thursday, June 2, at
5:30 pm. This free event aims at educat-
ing young adults on budgeting, credit
scores, student loans and loan repayment.
