STANLEY LOREN
SATOVSKY, 86, of
Bloomfield Hills, died
Jan. 14, 2016.
Stanley died sur-
rounded by family and
loved ones. He was
a beloved husband,
Satovsky
father, brother, Papa,
great-grandfather,
uncle and friend. He
will be forever missed and eternally
cherished.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis
Satovsky; sons and daughters-in-law,
Howard and Carole Satovsky, Steven and
Rhonda Satovsky, Marc and Jill Baskin;
daughters and sons-in-law, Caryn and
Ron Siegel, Dana and Dr. Eric Coffman;
sister, JoAnn Shatanoff; grandchildren,
Jennifer and Kevin Fantich, Matthew,
Brett and Nicole Satovsky, Jodi and
Stuart Solomon, Dr. Ryan Satovsky, Reid
and Marli Siegel, Jessica Fink, Chad
Coffman, Max and RJ Baskin; great-
grandchildren, Harper and Noa; sister-
in-law and brother-in-law, Sharon and
Gar Alperovitz; brother-in-law and sis-

ters-in-law, Eddie and Darlene Sosnick,
and Susu Sosnick; adoring nieces and
nephews; doting caregivers, Rodney and
Javon.
Mr. Satovsky was the dear brother-in-
law of the late Robert Sosnick and the
late Bruce Shatanoff.
Interment was at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Contributions may be made

JOYCE K. SCHILLER (nee Buch), for-
mer Detroiter of Pittsfield, Mass., died
in an automobile mishap Jan. 4, 2016.
Born in Detroit in 1950, to Allen and
Betsy Buch, she attended Cass Tech High
School, University of Michigan, Wayne
State University and received her Ph.D.
from Washington University in St. Louis,
Mo.
Joyce worked for many years as a

museum curator, lecturer and educator
at the St. Louis Art Museum, Reynolda
House Museum of American Art,
Delaware Art Museum and Norman
Rockwell Museum. She published many
articles and books on various aspects of
late-19th- and 20th-century American
art and illustration. Her love of art
extended to all periods from ancient
Roman to European, Asian and beyond.
She was a wonderful teacher and was
happiest when sharing her passion for
the arts. She was most proud of her
efforts to support and mentor students
and young scholars. She believed that
culture influenced art and art influenced
society.
Mrs. Schiller is survived by her hus-
band of 43 years, Lewis; her brother
and sister-in-law, Raymond and Lindy;
brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law,
Steven and Kris, Sam and Suzanne.
Contributions in her memory may be
made to the Archives of American Art in
Washington, D.C., or the arts organiza-
tion of the donor’s choice.

ROSLYN SCHWARTZ,
88, of Oak Park, died
Jan. 13, 2016.
She was a bookkeep-
er for Eaton Steel from
1964 through 1999,
when she retired. An
active volunteer with
many organizations,
she was also a member
of Congregation Beth
Shalom and its sister-

hood.
Mrs. Schwartz is survived by a
daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Ira
Camen of Oak Park; son, Martin Allan
Schwartz; grandchildren, Linda Camen
and Sarah Camen.
She was the beloved wife for 60 years
of the late Sidney Simon Schwartz; the
dear sister and sister-in-law of the late
Elaine and the late Alex Friedman.
Interment was at Nusach Hari
Cemetery. Contributions may be made
to Congregation Beth Shalom, 14601
Lincoln, Oak Park, MI 48237; or a char-
ity of one’s choice. Arrangements by
Hebrew Memorial Chapel.
