Akiva Hebrew Day School
Proud Of Grad's Success
It is with great pride and joy that we
wish one of our very own a heartfelt
mazel toy on being featured in the
Dec. 4 Detroit Jewish News ("There's
Fun After College!", page 20).
Ariel Halpern epitomizes living life
to the fullest — he combines his ongo-
ing devotion and dedication for living
an Orthodox Jewish Zionist life while
working in mainstream America.
To know Ariel Halpern is literally
a gift. His wit and humor is legend-
ary. The administrators and faculty
at Akiva always knew when Ariel was
walking down the hall with friends
because there was constant laughter,
spirit and true camaraderie.
Alumni Ariel Halpern exempli-
fies Akiva's mission of living a life of
Torah, Avodah [work, worship and
service] and Gemillut Chasadim [acts
of kindness].

High Schoolers Learn
Hebrew At MJI Class
When Ellery Isenstein returned from
a teen mission to Israel, she was
inspired to learn Hebrew. But Hebrew
is not taught at West Bloomfield High
School, where she is a student.
Participating in Dual Enrollment
Program at Michigan Jewish Institute
(MJI) was the ideal solution for Ellery
and other teens from public high
schools.
The program allows students to
receive high school and, in many
cases, college credit for certain
classes not offered by their regular
schools; and all or part of the tuition
may be covered under the Michigan
Postsecondary Enrollment Options Act

We are shepping nachas from you,
Ariel! Mazel toy.
