86, of West Bloomfield,
died July 26, 2013.
She is survived by
her sons and daughters-
in-law, Lev and Mariya
Pekarsky of West
Bloomfield, Dr. Ilya and
Pekarskaya
Tatyana Pekarsky of
Israel; grandchildren, Grigory, Yevgeniya,
Dina and Ido, Emil, Maya; great-nephew,
Ross Gabay.
Mrs. Pekarskaya was the beloved wife of
the late David Pekarskiy.

Interment was held at Hebrew Memorial

LEONIE REDER, 92, of Southfield, died

July 27, 2013.
She is survived by her daughters and
sons-in-law, Donna and Howard Plotkin,
and Barbara and Carl Diem; grandchil-
dren, Rachel Plotkin and Andrew Preston,
Julie Plotkin and Tim Howard, Jeremy
Plotkin, Marnie Diem, Zachary and

Lindsey Diem, and Ellery Diem; great-
grandchildren, Kaleb and Aliya Howard,
and Adelaide Rebecca Plotkin Preston;
sister, Iris Smith.
Mrs. Reder was the beloved wife of the
late William Reder; the cherished mother
of the late Gary Martin Reder.

ROBERT SILVER, 86,

of Huntington Woods
and Charlevoix, died
July 14, 2013.
He is survived by
his wife of 63 years,
Marilyn Silver; son

of Huntington Woods; grandchildren,
Rachel Silver and Justin Boelio, Weston
Silver, Jack Silver and Sara Silver; brother
and sister-in-law, Dr. Donald Silver and
Dr. Kay Campbell; sister-in-law and
brother-in-law, Sharon Weinstock and
Howard Baker; many loving nieces neph-
ews, cousins and friends.
He was the cherished father of the late

Randall Keith Silver.
Interment was at Clover Hill Park

STEVEN SLOMOVITZ,
48, of Chicago, Ill., died
July 22, 2013.
He is survived by

Lisa Kourkouliotis; sister and brother-in-

DR. IRVIN HARRY STRUB, of Upland,

Calif., died July 18, 2013.
He was born and raised in Detroit.
He graduated University of Michigan in
1943 and got his M.D. from Wayne State
University in 1947. He was the first phy-
sician awarded an AGA Fellowship. He
later settled in Chicago with wife, Helen
(Freed).
Dr. Strub was one of the founding mem-
bers of Lincolnwood Jewish Congregation
in 1959. In 2002, he chose California for
retirement to be near family.
Dr. Strub always displayed a warm
smile, offered sincere compliments, told
corny jokes. He truly cared, only see-
ing the best in others. He will be sorely
missed.
He was the second of two children
born to Henry and Naomi Brandt Strub.
He was predeceased by his sister, Sylvia
(Goldman).
He leaves Helen, the love of his life, wife
of 65 years; beloved children, Michael,
Peggy (Archie), Henry (Rebecca); grand-
children, Noreen (Brent), Willie, Kim,
Alex, Austin, Adam, Bryan; sister-in-law,
Esther Simon (Donald).
