She is survived by her sons and daughters- in-law, Lev and Mariya Pekarsky of West Bloomfield, Dr. Ilya and Pekarskaya Tatyana Pekarsky of Israel; grandchildren, Grigory, Yevgeniya, Dina and Ido, Emil, Maya; great-nephew, Ross Gabay. He was born and raised in Detroit. He graduated University of Michigan in 1943 and got his M.D. from Wayne State University in 1947. He was the first phy- sician awarded an AGA Fellowship. He later settled in Chicago with wife, Helen (Freed). Dr. Strub was one of the founding mem- bers of Lincolnwood Jewish Congregation in 1959. In 2002, he chose California for retirement to be near family. Dr. Strub always displayed a warm smile, offered sincere compliments, told corny jokes. He truly cared, only see- ing the best in others. He will be sorely missed. He was the second of two children born to Henry and Naomi Brandt Strub. He was predeceased by his sister, Sylvia (Goldman). He leaves Helen, the love of his life, wife of 65 years; beloved children, Michael, Peggy (Archie), Henry (Rebecca); grand- children, Noreen (Brent), Willie, Kim, Alex, Austin, Adam, Bryan; sister-in-law, Esther Simon (Donald).
